I
gained my Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis with
the London College of Clinical Hypnosis
(LCCH). The LCCH was founded in 1984 to establish
the highest standards of practice and
teaching for hypnosis as a therapeutic discipline.
The LCCH is accredited by the Thames Valley and Greenwich Universities,
The Open University and The Royal College of Nursing. I am also a
Member of the British Society of
Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) and work within their strict code of
conduct and ethics. Membership of the Society is only open to those
who have acquired the requisite professional and clinical training
in the major aspects of Psychology, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy
In 2004 I became a Diplomate Member of the Society having fulfilled
the criteria of advanced training with appropriate case studies and
further training in various specialist subjects. Also, as part of
this criteria I completed a dissertation entitled ‘Hypnotherapy
and the Cancer Patient’. This was based on my work and experience
with patients during my 10 years working in a local hospice.
As well
as treating a wide
range of somatic and psychological symptoms with
hypnotherapy, I am also a qualified Reflexologist,
Reiki Master Practitioner and Aromatherapist and can incorporate
these skills, if required, to
create a holistic approach to suit each individual. If
appropriate I also integrate cognitive behavioural work and Emotional
Freedom Technique (EFT) into treatment sessions.
I am a registered tutor for the LCCH helping/supporting
new students with their training and I keep up to date with changing
methods and expand my knowledge by attending Master Classes, further
training courses and support groups.
I have obtained specialist training from experienced
doctors in the field of hypnosis for pregnancy and childbirth and
I run training programmes for mums-to-be who want to learn the benefits
of Birthing with Hypnosis.
